WWDC26 is almost here, and it’s one of the biggest Apple events of the year. Every year, Apple gives us a first look at the future of its ecosystem, and this year could be one of the most exciting updates yet.
At WWDC26, Apple will unveil the next generation of software, including iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27. From a smarter Apple Intelligence experience to the future of Siri and new features across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and Apple Vision Pro. There is a lot to look forward to.
So what exactly can we expect from WWDC26? Let’s dive into everything Apple could announce.
AI is the big focus
This year, AI is expected to take center stage at WWDC26. Apple’s event teaser, “All Systems Glow,” hints at a big focus on the future of Apple Intelligence and a more powerful Siri experience. With deeper AI integration across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and more, WWDC26 could mark the beginning of a new era for the Apple ecosystem. Making devices smarter, more personal, and more helpful than ever before.
Waitlist for the New Siri
According to a new report, Apple’s redesigned Siri in iOS 27 might not be available to everyone right away. Bloomberg reports that Apple has internally labeled the new Siri as a “beta” and “preview,” which suggests the assistant may launch as an early version rather than a fully finished feature.
The report also mentions the possibility of a waitlist for users who want to try the new Siri features at launch. That would be similar to the rollout of Apple Intelligence in 2024, where users first had to join a waitlist in the Settings app before gaining access.
For Apple, this slower rollout would make a lot of sense. The new Siri is expected to be a major rebuild, with a new AI-powered architecture and deeper Apple Intelligence integration. By using a waitlist, Apple could gradually open access, monitor performance, collect feedback, and improve the experience before making it available to everyone.
If true, iOS 27 could mark the beginning of a much smarter Siri — but maybe not everyone will get to try it on day one.
Which device will support iOS 27?
Every year with a major iOS update, some older iPhone models reach the end of software support. According to the latest reports, iOS 27 could drop support for several older devices.
The following iPhone models are expected to miss out on the iOS 27 update:
• iPhone 11
• iPhone 11 Pro
• iPhone 11 Pro Max
• iPhone SE (2nd generation)
If this turns out to be true, the iPhone 11 series would still have received years of major iOS updates, showing Apple’s long-term commitment to software support. The official list of supported devices will be confirmed when Apple unveils iOS 27 at WWDC26.

Apple Intelligence & Siri
One of the biggest changes expected in iOS 27 is the completely redesigned Siri experience. Apple is reportedly giving Siri a much more modern look, built around the Dynamic Island on newer iPhones.
Instead of the glowing animation around the edges of the screen, Siri could now appear directly inside the Dynamic Island with a new dark-toned interface. This would make Siri feel more connected to the iPhone hardware and much more natural to use, especially for quick voice questions and searches.
Apple is also expected to introduce a new “Search or Ask” interface. By swiping down from the top center of the iPhone screen, users could open a smarter Siri-powered search experience with app suggestions, recent searches, notes, and more. It sounds like Apple wants Siri to become more than just a voice assistant. More like a real AI layer across the iPhone.
Writing is also expected to get a big upgrade in iOS 27. Reports say Apple is working on a more powerful grammar checker, similar to Grammarly, where you can review suggested changes, accept them one by one, approve everything at once, or ignore suggestions. Apple may also add new options like “Write With Siri” and “Help Me Write,” making it easier to improve text directly from the keyboard.
Shortcuts could become much easier to use too. Instead of manually building every action step by step, iOS 27 may let you simply describe what you want your Shortcut to do. Apple Intelligence could then build it for you. That would make Shortcuts feel way more accessible for everyday users.
And for personalization, iOS 27 is reportedly getting AI-generated wallpapers. This feature would build on Image Playground and could appear directly inside the wallpaper picker, letting users create custom iPhone wallpapers with Apple Intelligence.
If all of this turns out to be true, iOS 27 could be one of Apple’s biggest AI updates ever. Not just because of one new feature, but because Apple Intelligence may finally start to feel deeply connected to the way we use our iPhone every day.
